The Govt. of Maharashtra has declared a new tourism promotion region as New Mahabaleshwar Hill Station. The destination falls under the Patal Taluku of Satara District. The region is gifted with rich flora and fauna, Koyna river and Shivsagar lake, enchanting Thosegar and other water falls, Guhagar Beach, Koyna Dam, Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary and Sahyadri Tiger Reserve along with many other attractions of nature.
The destination is well connected by road which has been upgraded by MSRTC between Chiplun on the Konkan Railway and Karad on the Central Railway. The nearest Airports are Pune and Mumbai.
